Our Advent Series beginning Sunday, November 30th is titled, "Dear God," and is an opportunity to draw closer to God as we pray, "Come, Lord Jesus, come" each day of advent as we wait with hope, prepare with peace, endure in joy, and live in the love of Christ who came into the world because God loves us!
I encourage you to create your own family Advent practices at home this year.
You can make an Advent Wreath with sprigs of pine, ivy, or pinecones using 4 candles for each Sunday and a candle in the center for Christmas Eve to light the Christ Candle.
Traditionally there are three candles that are purple, one pink candle for the third Sunday of Advent, and a white candle in the center for the Christ Candle on Christmas Eve.
Each Sunday, you can light a candle, read scripture, say a prayer, spend time in journaling, and discussing the scripture with your friends and family members. You can do this in person, or through zoom with your family members.
