Welcome to CCUMC’s Upward basketball and cheer programs! Our league focuses on player development, team fundamentals, and a positive, fun learning environment alongside exciting competition. We pride ourselves on excellent coaching combined with a Gospel-based curriculum that will challenge your child in sports and life.
2026-2027 Basketball/Cheer Season
We welcome all children in Kindergarten through 6th grade to register for the upcoming season beginning September 1. The level of competition increases with each division, but our focus at all levels is on player development. Our basketball divisions are
- Kindergarten
- 1st/2nd Grade
- 3rd/4th Grade
- 5th/6th Grade
Cheer squads will be formed based on enrollment.

Practices
Practices Begin: Week of Dec 3, 2026 (1 hour, once per week). Teams will practice
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday.
Games:
- Saturdays beginning December 19, 2026 through February 27, 2027
- 8 games total, with additional playoff game(s) for 5th/6th grade
- All practices and games are held in the Family Life Center at

Volunteers Welcome
The Upward program is powered by our team of volunteer coaches, referees, scorekeepers, devotion speakers and concession help. Please consider helping our program grow – if you have an hour, you can help!
All coaches must complete CCUMC’s “green lanyard” Safe Sanctuary training prior to coaching. Sessions are offered throughout the year and at the start of the season.
